{"id":106,"date":"2013-06-29T20:47:37","date_gmt":"2013-06-29T20:47:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kmachine.nl\/blog\/?p=106"},"modified":"2013-06-29T20:47:37","modified_gmt":"2013-06-29T20:47:37","slug":"sodom-dynamo-5-february-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kmachine.nl\/?p=106","title":{"rendered":"Sodom @ Dynamo, 5 February 2011"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After their cancellation at Headbanging Enschede, Sodom was back on the road for a short European tour, of which the only Dutch date was in Eindhoven&#8217;s Dynamo. So after some 17 years I thought it would be time to go and see Sodom live again.<\/p>\n<p>They held a kind of competition to fill the second support slot, which should be a local band. Peculiarly this was a German band here, named <b>Eure Erben<\/b> who were already playing when I entered the venue and I caught only 2 or 3 songs. I guess I didn&#8217;t miss much from this rather generic band that is nearly as old as Sodom, but I had never heard of (okay they changed names in 2004 from Darkness but that doesn&#8217;t ring any bells either).<\/p>\n<p>The other support slot was for the whole tour given to the Swedish band <b>Die Hard<\/b> who I didn&#8217;t know either. They play thrash metal with some Black metal (read Venom) elements in it. Anyway I found it rather boring.<\/p>\n<p>Then there was <b>Sodom<\/b> with a new drummer. After the mandatory intro, they started out with the title track of their latest album. Then followed a set with mostly classic songs selected from nearly all their albums, only to return to the new album with The Art Of Killing Poetry. The usual songs filled the set, like Sodomy and Lust, Outbreak Of Evil, but also a couple of surprises, especially the awesome Nuclear Winter. Sound-wise it was a bit so-so. The bass seem to disappear once in a while and the vocals were hard to hear. The band was having a lot of fun after a bit of a slow start. But after 90 minutes with the last notes of the mandatory Bombenhagel it all over without encores. Excellent gig!<\/p>\n<p>Approximate set list:<\/p>\n<p>1. In War And Pieces<br \/>\n2.
