The day after “Into the Grave” another excellent band played on the other side of the country on this sunny Sunday afternoon . So logistically a bit of a challenge, but anyway, I travelled to Tilburg the next day. Gorguts was just arriving at the same time, so everything was running a bit late. Never mind tho.

The warm-up was provided courtesy of the band Drown the Moth who are a local deathcore band or what ever. I thought they were a bit so – so. The screamed vocals and drumstyle put me off a lot. Some of the riffs were quite alrigth tho.

Then Gorguts had to set-up their gear in the club which I think they expected to be a bit bigger. So it was time to get some food. And some 45 minutes later they actually started to play. Gorguts plays a very technical and original style of death metal that I like a lot – Obscura is one of my favourite albums ever and their other 3 albums are really good too. They started off with the title track of their latest album From Wisdom to Hate. And it was tight and fast. They played the same songs as on the Neurotic Death fest earlier this year with a slightly different order. I had hoped they put in a few more songs. But that wasn’t so. Never the less a really good gig and great to see a band like this in a smaller club instead of a large venue that’s only half full. So a great gig anyway.
